Chapeau has been a beloved part of the cycling landscape for many years. But with the recent growth of the industry, they wanted a site that finally did the brand justice, matching the design and quality of the products, whilst streamlining the buying process.
I designed the site with a clean, minimalist aesthetic allowing focus to land squarely on the beautiful lifestyle and product imagery. Alongside this I gave the existing brand some new life, introducing a distinctive brand colour palette, a series of bold patterns for social media and OOH, and created a series of French cafe culture-inspired illustrations to represent various features across the site.
A mobile-first approach with a complete overhaul of the purchase process made sure customers could make a purchase wherever they might be. The site design ended up being ported to the Magento platform to maximise their stock plugins but I worked hard to keep the site as close to the original idea as possible with only the checkout stage changing significantly.
Great feedback from the client was matched with their best sales season to date.
